When Docs Talk (WDT) is what happens when friends get together and share their passions, their opinions, their expertise, their funny stories and their curiosities. It just so happens that these friends are medical doctors.
WDT is a collaborative of emergency medical doctors and health care providers who happen to be women of color, offering a point of view not often seen in current media. We introduce subject matter which pertains to women and men of all ages and ethnicities recognizing that health is “everybody’s business.” From the rural towns of America to busy urban emergency departments, the experiences our ER “Docs” will make you laugh, make you cry, and sometimes make you laugh so hard that you cry. Featuring a diverse team, we are citizens of the world and therefore, will have a little something for everyone.
So, come talk with the docs…no appointment or co-pay necessary…
Mission statement:
When Docs Talk™ (WDT) is a show designed to give viewers insight into relevant and pressing topics from the perspective of health care professionals. Our collaborative consists of medical doctors and health care providers who just happen to be women of color—offering a point of view not often seen in current media. We introduce subject matter which pertains to women and men of all ages and ethnicities, recognizing that health is “everybody’s business.” When Docs Talk™ offers a unique view of health trends, pop culture, current events and politics through the lens of highly educated women who have seen it all. From the rural towns of America, to busy urban emergency departments, the experiences our “Docs” have had will make us laugh, make us cry and sometimes make us laugh so hard that we cry. This show allows our audience the permission to listen in as our “Docs” talk with each other and their invited guests, who themselves are experts in their field. We want our viewers to feel like they have a best friend who just happens to be a doctor. Through WDT, their “Doctor BFF” (#DBFF) will give them the inside scoop, making our viewers privy to the way doctors speak, the way we think and the stories/experiences we share. When Docs Talk features a diverse cast and a wide range of subject matter, weaving together discussion and education from people whose business happens to be the art of medicine. Our audience will leave our show entertained and enlightened.
A FEW WORDS FOR OUR VIEWERS…
Â
When Docs Talk (WDT) is what happens when friends get together and share their passions, their opinions, their secrets, their knowledge and expertise, their funny stories and their curiosities. It just so happens that these friends are medical doctors. WDT will take you on a journey as we introduce hot topics and current events from the perspective of women whose passions are wide and varied, but whose practice is the art of medicine. WDT allows you to be “a fly on the wall” as our “Docs” share incredible stories from hospitals that they have worked in all across the world.Â
WDT will give you a chance to ask those burning questions you always wanted to know but never felt comfortable asking your doctor. We plan to insert our “two cents” into the discussions, offering insights on juicy topics from people whose business is the body. Finally, we are determined to separate myths from facts, empowering our audience with important information that they can use to make well-informed decisions in their lives. We are women of color, but we are citizens of the world and therefore, will have a little something for everyone. After all, health and our bodies are really “every body’s business.”
So, come talk with the docs…no appointment or co-pay necessary…
